My arrival and life in Denmark

The war incidents in the former Yugoslavia in the early 1990s set many people on an unpredictable and unfamiliar journey -- both physically and mentally. In this lecture Branka Lugonja shares her personal experience of starting a new life in Denmark after fleeing the conflict. Her narrative is not only about the great challenges, but also about the valuable life experiences that have shaped her into the person she is today. Branka will take the participants on a journey through some of the events and acquaintances of amazing people who have had a great impact on her life. Her story is not only an account of survival, but also of how to find meaning in even the most difficult experiences and transform them into strength and joy of life. The hope is that Branka's story will give participants a new perspective on both life's challenges and the strength found in starting over. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions and gain a more personal insight into Branka's experiences. Coffee and cake will also be served for participants to continue the conversation and exchange thoughts about the experience.

Lecture on Fractals and Fractal Drawing

This is an exciting method created and patented by clinical psychologist and educator Tanzilija Polujahtova and has been developed since 1991. In collaboration with her mentor, Martina Velemir from Serbia, Branka Lugonja has become familiar with various drawing methods and cycles within fractal drawing and has decided to do her best to convey this concept here in Denmark. In this talk Branka will tell both about fractal drawing, but also about fractals in general and try to open horizons in the audience to realize new perspectives on how we can view the world around us — and even more so, the world within ourselves. All of you who occasionally want to take a break from all that presses us, dazzles us and stops us may find inspiration in this tale of what we can do with line and color. In the lecture I will also tell about why fractals and fractal drawing caught my attention and what I use them for. I hope the audience will help create a dynamic mood by asking questions. It is not certain that I have the answers to all of your questions, but it will certainly open the desire to seek them. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and my thoughts on this topic. Coffee and cake will also be served for participants to continue the conversation and exchange thoughts about the experience. At the same time, you can experience glass art and other works exhibited in the gallery.

Fractal drawing - A Journey Into Your Inner World

Come and join us to create your own fractal drawing in a relaxing and creative atmosphere. This workshop is designed for everyone who wants to explore their creative side. Fractal drawing does not require previous drawing skills – everyone can join! The experience is ideal for both adults and children over 16 years old. Children from 7-16 are welcome with an adult companion. During the 3 hours you will draw a fractal drawing - a fascinating and therapeutic art form that helps you connect with your inner self. Fractal drawing can be described as 'brain yoga', as it engages both body and mind. The rules of the process help you get rid of stress and excessive responsibility, achieving a feeling of balance and harmony.

Glass art for 3 hours for 6 adults

*Glass Artist for 3 Hours — Creative Workshop for Adults (18+) * — For 6 People Step into Kunstgården St.Galla, where you will have the opportunity to unfold your creativity in an inspiring and relaxed environment. In this 3-hour workshop you will work with glass and create your very own artwork. Under the guidance of Branka Lugonja, an experienced glass artist with 30 years of experience, you will be introduced to the process and get help throughout the process. You will be given the opportunity to paint on glass of a minimum size of 25x25 cm, and if you wish, you can cut the glass yourself. Branka assists you in choosing colors and techniques so that you can create a work that reflects your own style. When the paintwork is finished and dry, it is burned in a glass oven and you can choose whether your work should remain as a picture or be shaped into a beautiful dish. The finished work can be picked up after burning at an agreed time. To make the workshop extra pleasant, you will be able to enjoy coffee, tea, water, snacks and fruit throughout the course. After you've completed your creative process, why not explore the nearby surroundings? The UNESCO World Heritage Trelleborg Viking Center is just 2 km away and the beach is just 4 km from the Kunstgården. Slagelse town also offers plenty of opportunities to end the day with a visit to a café, restaurant or museum.

My Life with Glass — A Lecture with Branka Lugonja

Is it fate or coincidence? Who knows? Since 1995, Branka Lugonja has enjoyed working with glass. This transparent material has been a central part of her professional life, and has opened new horizons, brought both challenges and joys and thus shaped her artistic journey for 30 years. In this talk, Branka shares her story of how her passion for glass began, why it still drives her, and what she has learned along the way. With a look at both the past and the future, participants get a unique insight into Branka's life with glass and her wishes development continues.. After the lecture, the participants will be invited to a tour of Branka's glass workshop, where she will explain her work processes, techniques, show kiln rooms, demonstrate different ways of lighting glass — and of course answer questions. At the end, coffee and cake will be served and participants will have the opportunity to explore the gallery where they can see glass art as well as other works on display.

Team Building - Common Fractal Drawing

Work, great responsibilities and many commitments can lead to stress, exhaustion, and sometimes it is necessary to “let go” of the tensions and spend time with colleagues on a creative and relaxing activity. Our team building activity, Common Fractal Drawing, allows you to spend 3.5 hours in fun and creative togetherness without needing any prior drawing experience. With knowledgeable introduction and guidance from Branka Lugonja, participants will have the opportunity to focus on colors, lines and shapes, and they will develop new perspectives — both in drawing and in collaboration with colleagues. Fractal drawing starts with an individual process and continues with a joint work. This experience will expand boundaries and horizons, open new points of view and bind participants together. Branka Lugonja has over 4 years of experience in this discipline, which is used for therapeutic, artistic and entertaining purposes. This technique is often called “yoga for the brain” as it provides deeper insight into the world around us and into ourselves. The works created during workshops, both individually and jointly, often surprise participants with their beauty — even for those who did not believe in their own creative abilities.
