The war incidents in the former Yugoslavia in the early 1990s set many people on an unpredictable and unfamiliar journey -- both physically and mentally. In this lecture Branka Lugonja shares her personal experience of starting a new life in Denmark after fleeing the conflict. Her narrative is not only about the great challenges, but also about the valuable life experiences that have shaped her into the person she is today.
Branka will take the participants on a journey through some of the events and acquaintances of amazing people who have had a great impact on her life. Her story is not only an account of survival, but also of how to find meaning in even the most difficult experiences and transform them into strength and joy of life.
The hope is that Branka's story will give participants a new perspective on both life's challenges and the strength found in starting over.
After the presentation, there will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions and gain a more personal insight into Branka's experiences. Coffee and cake will also be served for participants to continue the conversation and exchange thoughts about the experience.
